Bebetin Ul’tetetin III is the Ninth child born to a branch Ul line Family, being a distance cousin to the Sultana, but having rarely interacted. Bebetin’s tale is one of perseverance and overcoming the nature of one’s birth, through the clever craft.
Bebetin was told that his mother’s pregnancy with him was fraught with issue, that they and the healers were worried about the delivery; thus they called on the Conjurer’s Guild to send any talented Conjurers they could spare to assist.
This turned out to be necessary, as Bebetin was born close to death; nearly stillborn. The Conjurer’s acted quickly, all casting Raise on the babe to bring him back from the brink. However, this caused issues within the babe’s aetherpool and mana reserves, causing the typical temporary weakness that’s associated with Raise to become permanent; soft skin, fragile or ‘glass’ bones and asthma.
This caused his parents to coddle and hide him away, his eight siblings to isolate him and for the servant staff to pity the young Bebetin, who found himself immersed in stories. Such stories contained not only the history of the world and Ul’dah, but also fictitious tales of mages and noble heroes; including the Warriors of Light.
Bebetin practiced in secret, having help from the servant staff to smuggle in introductory tomes of the fundamentals of Thaumaturgy and Arcanima, but Conjury was a sore subject for the budding Mage. He learned and learned; until his parents discovered his passion and locked him away within his room; worried for his well being.
Bebetin, however, had enough. He set up an elaborate plan and, with further servant help, snuck out into the night; geared up with basic robes and tomes and a staff to begin his adventuring.
Since then, Bebe has found some success as an adventurer; though progress was steep at first. He now is recognized as an accomplished mage in the arts of Thaumaturgy, Arcanima and basic healing and shielding magics; endeavoring to learn of potentially forbidden magics and history; to become the mage he can be.
