Background

The story of the character's origins

Lore here is made in the eyes of the average XIV player with no recollection of NieR Replicant.Those who are aware should know that it's a semi-parallel timeline in regards to current XIV to the end of NieR Replicant. The only difference being Gestalt Popola remaining after Devola's death. Once upon a time... in a far-off seaside village towards the outside of South-Eastern La Noscea lived Popola and her twin sister Devola. Seemingly raised by themselves after arriving in the town no more as 14, the two began to reside in one of the old maritime cottages towards the top of Beakwood Point. Throughout the years, the two began to put on little bard shows and eventually bartend for the townsfolk to make their keep along with odd end chores for neighboring areas, growing a name for themselves quickly among the shores. Not without a growing education between their work, Popola took up an interest in the history of Aldenard while her sister stayed as a keeper of Beakwood Point on the eve of their 24th birthday. While Popola traveled towards the various cities around her to better her understanding of the world around her, stumbling into Girdania's gates. Taking up residency within the Carline Canopy, Popola spent almost all of her time traveling between Girdania and various historical sights in order to pursue her love for knowledge and the areas around her. Living off the coast, she found her way wandering around the Black Shroud and inherently getting lost, eventually making her way over to Quarrymill to obverse the happenings of the Palace of the Dead. Joining a small group that focuses on the interworkings of the Palace, she began delving into the Gelmorran history during her time in the Black Shroud. Spending almost a year in the Black Shroud area in this hyper fixation of the lore and history of the area, she slowly made her way back into Girdania to recuperate and regather supplies. While catching up on the happenings of the Carline Canopy with Mother Miounne Popola was made aware of Devola's sudden passing from seemingly nothing.

Seemingly passing in her sleep from an unknown cause, Devola was on her way over to see her twin in the Black Shroud and just made it outside the border of Eastern Thanalan and the South Shroud. Popola, reasonably grief stricken began to fall back on her passion and back to the comfort of music and barding. However, during her grieving period, a small fledgling sparrow had fallen out of its nest outside of Popola's Quarrymill cottage window and had injured its leg. Immediately moving to scoop it up and agreeing to raise it as long as she could, she made it a small nest next to her bed and welcomed a new friend into her life. Slowly letting time pass as it could, Popola quietly began picking up her old book-loving ways and made her way back into the Wood. While pitching up a small library nook inside Quarrymill, Popola would come across a small group of adventurers on the way down into the Deepcroft hoping to seek a map to guide them in the labyrinths below. Hesitantly giving them a map, she made sure to hammer in safety and to watch out for each other with the memory of her won sister still raw in her mind. Watching them go off, Popola opened her doors a little more in hopes of blowing the dust off the blinds, bringing clean air while leaning out the window to watch the passersby. Popola started to keep her library up for the coming and goings of the area, occasionally traveling out of town for tavern shows with the fledgling sparrow flying close to her side.
