Born in the Golmore Jungle, Skal Huntsvard was raised among the Viera, learning the ways of the hunt from an early age. She grew deeply connected to nature, mastering tracking, stalking, and ambushing techniques. As a young adult, she hunted extensively, raised kits, and proved her skill by slaying a dangerous panther that threatened multiple villages.
Her life took a tragic turn when an unknown beast attacked her village, leading to the death of one of her kits. Overcome with guilt, she abandoned her home and settled in Dalmasca. There, she continued her hunting craft, assisting isolated villages by hunting dangerous beasts and the like. When the Garleans invaded the destruction brought by their magitek filled her with a fear, and she fled by sea to Limsa Lominsa.
With her new life starting in Eorzea, she continued to refine her hunting skills and knowlege of monsters by hunting beasts across the land. She became an expert on the Eorzean wildlife, and a friend to many who lived beyond the walls of the city states. She also traveled further to the greater world sneaking her way through the Garlean controlled borders to hunt more beasts to further her knowledge, and develop her skills even more.
Now, at 180 years old, Skal is a master hunter and nomadic wanderer, dedicated to studying wildlife and the ever-changing environment. With an unmatched knowledge of monsters and survival, she continues her lifelong pursuit—hunting, learning, and ensuring the balance between nature and civilization.
