Youthful Beginnings
Born into humbled beginnings, Kagari Yonamine was raised under the guidance of his parents. With a mother's graceful movements as a dancer while being a culinarian and the ambidextrous hands of his father's fisherman skills, the young man was taught onto him different principles of being self-sufficient. Onto his years as a young boy, Kagari's brother - Mirai Yonamine - was born and upheld his duty to safeguard his younger brother no matter the circumstances. Living in a small home off the Agelyss River close by Wineport, the Yonamine family lived but a quiet yet fulfilling life. It wasn't until the Seventh Umbral Calamity that tragedy struck the family itself.
Due to the events transpired by the moon Dalamud and unrest amidst the realm, monsters and the like grew in agitation which incidentally struck Bloodshore with relentless aggression. Residents along the coast attempted to defend themselves, but none were able to propel the monsters back due to Maelstrom, the grand company of Limsa Lominsa, being spread thin against the invading Garlean Empire. As the dust settled onto the land, the casualties were unspeakable. The father attempted to defend his family, and yet, fell to the creatures that threatened to take their lives. The mother, severely wounded, fled while safeguarding a baby Mirai cradled in her arms. All by his lonesome with attempts to defend the innocent against the monsters corroding Bloodshore, Kagari only found himself at the foot of a corpse of a young coeurl that he put down. Lacerations covering his body and with little hope in his situation, the young boy could only falter until a blurred image of two men approached to save him. This, however, would be far from his nightmares being over. . .
Nightmarish Confinement
Albeit saved from his inflicted wounds, Kagari found himself in the company of two men who took the opportunity to seize control amidst the settling dust of the Seventh Umbral Calamity. Both of these men were revealed to head an organization dealing in enslavement and other nefarious endeavors. When observing the young boy from afar fighting the monsters of Bloodshore, they witnessed a latent potential within him that could otherwise propel him forth as a worthwhile fighter. Thus, with collected thoughts, the two men kept the boy in the confinement of the organization as one of their prized fighters for underground fighting tournaments.
As the years continued on after the calamity, Kagari's former life was nothing but a distant memory as his conditions now were nothing more than abiding by the whims of his new caretakers. Blood was spilled, whether by his own hands or his own blood being dropped, from each fight he had to endure with proceedings of monetary rewards going directly to his captors. Growing into a young adult by this point, due to his androgynous appearance and even feminine features, one of the men insisted on having Kagari conduct matters that weren't just mere fights; memories only to be pushed down that he dared not wish to remember.
Blood. Sweat. Tears. Dignity. Innocence.
Each of these facets of his being were abused by the two men as they saw Kagari as an opportunity to progressively heighten their organizations funding and even prowess from the youthful prodigy. Even the slightest signs of resistance was only met through painful consequences, whether physically or mentally. Everything soon came ahead when a recent underground fight club caught one of the men's attention, thus, Kagari was signed on to be a fighter as normal. Yet, despite this, the Raen - now a young man - felt pairs of eyes on him from afar. Ones that would otherwise seek his emancipation from his captors permanently.
One's Resolution
It was particularly difficult for Kagari to keep himself focused with pairs of eyes solely focused onto him. His handler, not all too pleased, kept the Raen pivots his thoughts directly onto the fight he was scheduled to have. Like all the others before him, the young man was expected to beat down his opponent with promises of monetary reward as compensation for winning. And yet…
Crack! Crack! Thud!
Impactful fists collided with the Raen's own body and thus fell to his opponent, crowned as the loser between the two. Vexation only boiled from his handler with taking Kagari elsewhere to be dealt with. In recent days up to this point were the losses unable to be justified according to his handler. Taken to a secluded alley, the young man's handler brandished a blade to him until those same pairs of eyes all stood behind his captor, each with determination of ceasing the cruelty Kagari's has suffered for nearly ten years. Cut down almost instantaneously, the one that possessed a vice-grip on the Raen existed no longer as a hand soon stretched itself outward to beckon for his own.
“Your safe now. Come with us,” a male Hyur with a distinctive face and sideburns calmly reassured the young man.
A maelstrom of emotions whirled in Kagari's head, unable to properly grasp the circumstance he was in, but one thing in his mind told him to do one simple thing:
“Take his hand.”
Thus did the Raen take the extended hand, welcomed into a company of like-minded individuals that wished to help those in need through their own resolution. Finally, a haven he founded where he can belong after so many years since losing his family in the calamity.
Days Anew
Finding himself through his own emancipation from that day on, Kagari has integrated himself into this company of various individuals all from different walks of life. Each individual he felt compelled to eventually call his own family after everything they have done for him; a new lease on life without any fear. Since then, the Raen has reformed a heartfelt reunion with his long lost brother since the calamity, assisted his fellow comrades on various quests, and has even found a new way of living in the form of his own wishes not unlike those dictated by his handler. Up to now in the present day, even with these accomplishments of his since being saved, this is only the beginning for the newly formed monk as his journey has truly just began onto adventures unknown.
