Character

Personality: Grim is fiercely protective and guarded, often keeping emotional closeness at bay, preferring superficial interactions. Despite this, he has a strong moral compass and tries to combat injustice and inequality in whatever form it takes during his travels. He refuses to accept coin for assisting the powerless or underprivileged, while rejecting those same requests for assistance from the entitled, rich, and elite ruling class. Quiet and contemplative, he is a man of few words, preferring his actions speak on his behalf. However, there is a darkness inside him that makes him prone to rage and aggression, using great violence to punish those he feels deserve it without hesitation or remorse.

Background: Grim hailed from Bozja, a land scarred by conflict. The tragedy wrought by Project Meteor and subsequent Bozjan Incident drove him from his home and fueled his resolve to fight against oppression and authoritarianism. He had fought in various wars and resistances, beginning with skirmishes in Dalmasca, followed by intense battles in Bozja after the liberation of Doma and Ala Mhigo. He then returned to Dalmasca to finally liberate it from its Garlean oppressors before moving on to Garlemald during the Final Days. Though he strove to always act righteous and compassionate in even the most hellish of circumstances, war found a way to seep into his spirit, blackening his heart, and sometimes compelling him to do things he would rather not remember. Now, he lives as a loner and a nomad, wandering the lands and offering his skills to those in need whilst trying to discover what sort of man he truly is: one of honor or one of darkness.
