Caneks of Yak T'el
Born in a remote village in Yak T’el, Xochitl is the eldest of three sisters: herself, Oxomoco, and Khanna. As the eldest, Xochitl’s responsibility to her family was paramount, so when it came to their home-schooled learning, she applied herself readily to all the lessons their parents had to teach. From statecraft and governance to music to martial combat, they made sure to give their daughters the best education possible to prepare them for their place in the world. From that tutelage, Xochitl found an aptitude with martial combat, tactics, and adaptability.
At the age of sixteen, Xochitl was sent to Tuliyollal to continue her martial education after which she joined the Landsguard for a time. During this era of her life, she regularly received letters from her younger sister, Oxomoco, who wrote to her of her adventures abroad. Xochitl served the Landsguard faithfully and well, seeing the full width and breadth of Tural during her tour of duty. She grew to have a deeply abiding love and loyalty to her homeland and its people, embracing their differences and cultures in true Turali fashion. Yet, there was some part of her that envied her sister’s freedom and travel, it filled her with a longing she didn’t know she possessed.
A Life Abroad
After she finished her time with the Landsguard, Xochitl was left with a glut of martial skill, but Tural had no real need for a mercenary or adventurer. She ended up speaking with a curious vieran fellow by name of Nagreth who offered to sponsor her in gladiator fights around the world. Given the opportunity, Xochitl took it and traveled between Thavnair, Dalmasca, and Meracydia fighting in various arenas and coliseums around the globe. Along the way she befriended the Hhetsarro sea-captain, Teocuah Atoqaa, and traveled with him often.
On her own, Xochitl earned fame and fortune as a gladiator, making a name for herself in entertainment fighting circles the world over. The parents that had so dutifully raised her now enjoyed a life of wealth and luxury, thanks to their successful offspring. Still, however, Xochitl felt that there was something missing in her life.
That something… was her sister. Taking Oxomoco’s letters she set sail for Limsa Lominsa to finally reunite with her sister after so long. Perhaps with Oxomoco, Xochitl can find out what her true purpose in this life will be…
