(This is indeed a wip, the story of who she is and who she was may change, thank you for showing interest and stopping by! ❤️)
Minta grew up proud to be the daughter of a traveling merchant, her childhood defined by bustling trade routes and the ever-changing scenery of sea and road. Her mother’s resourceful business acumen inspired her, and she eagerly absorbed the rhythms of the markets and the art of negotiation. Adventure and mischief colored her days, but her heart always belonged to the bustling docks and vendors of Hawker’s Alley.
From an early age, Minta had a knack for finding trouble—especially with the fishmongers. After being caught one too many times attempting to steal their daily catch, they took her under their wing. “Fishing’s more rewarding than sneaking,” they’d tease, and soon they’d taught her the art of the rod and net. Fishing became her passion, a skill that brought her joy and purpose, sparking a lifelong love for gathering anything and everything the world had to offer.
Her teenage years brought unexpected revelations. One day, while organizing her mother’s goods, Minta discovered a mysterious letter sealed with a formal wax stamp. It was addressed to “his little star,” a name that puzzled her. Curious, she approached her mother, who reluctantly revealed the truth: Minta was not adopted, as she had been led to believe, but hidden. Her father’s identity was a carefully guarded secret, concealed to protect her and their livelihood from the dangers his connection could bring.
This discovery lingered in her mind as she grew into adulthood. Though she remained devoted to her mother and their travels, Minta felt the call of the sea grow stronger. Her mother’s advancing age meant the end of their merchant’s journeys was near, and Minta realized she wasn’t meant to settle in one place. With a heartfelt farewell to the bustling markets and the life she’d known, she set out in search of the next big fishing adventure.
Her travels eventually brought her aboard a luxurious fishing cruise meant to connect Kugane and Limsa Lominsa—a deep-sea fisher’s dream. Disaster struck when the ship disappeared at sea, and Minta was presumed lost. She was later found in a hidden fishing cove in the Ruby Sea, nearly torn apart by giant crabs that made the secluded waters their domain.
Villagers later recounted that a man had arrived at their door one night, carrying Minta’s broken body. His concern seemed genuine, but his urgency betrayed an air of inconvenience, as though he’d done more than he intended. He stayed only long enough to ensure she was cared for before vanishing into the night.
When Minta finally awoke, she reached out to a blurry, horned silhouette, only to find the hand of Catarina, a snarky petite Raen woman who had been by her bedside. “Must you move so much? You’ll undo your sutures, and we don’t have time for another surgery,” Catarina scolded, introducing herself as Minta’s attendant. Though Catarina knew little of the man who’d brought her there, she relayed the doctor’s account of her miraculous survival.
During her recovery, Minta learned of a property left in her name—an unexpected discovery connected to the letter she had found as a teenager. The property was a beachfront estate in Shirogane, a legacy from her mysterious father. Though she visited and admired its beauty, she found no attachment to the place and eventually sold it.
Her return to the Lavender Beds came with yet another revelation. The cozy hotel she and her mother had frequented during tradesmen’s meetings was more than a favored stop—it had been in her family’s care all along. The concierge, a former business partner of her parents, explained that the inn was her inheritance. Overwhelmed but determined, Minta embraced the challenge, using her years of merchant experience to transform the hotel into a thriving business hub.
Yet the mysteries of her past linger. Whenever she tries to recall the face of the man who saved her, her memory betrays her, turning him into a grumpy-looking capybara scampering away. It’s both frustrating and oddly amusing, a reminder of the chaos woven into her life.
Despite her trials, Minta remains true to herself. She hums while cooking, finds solace in animals, and eagerly seeks out new experiences. Playful and curious, she can be bratty and reckless at times but thrives with firm guidance. Now, as leader of the Khaos Consortium, Minta balances her love for adventure with a deep connection to her roots, charting her course through a life as unpredictable as the sea itself.
