The story of the character's origins
Basics
Pandora Oxi, formerly affiliated with the Monks of Rhalgr, is a traveling merc. This monk used to specialize in taking down trafficking rings, and had moved on to monster hunting to pay her bills. She is a force to be reckoned with when she fights alone or alongside allies.
Still an active practice of the way of the fist, she uses her body as a weapon of pure destructive powers. Some say she has an unusual strength, her ability to shatter stone and rend foes into the ground makes her stand out. Though not without consequences. It’s common to see her with bandaged hands, broken weapons and the occasional bruised ribcage if she goes a bit too heavy on the strength factor. To balance it out she relies on the use of her lightning aspected aether to amplify her speed, and make her style more balanced, no longer just relying on her absurd strength. This makes her as deadly as a lightning bolt.
This master monk is not all work and no play, in fact she is known to play a bit too much. Pandora enjoys a good adventure, classic shenanigans and a good bout of tomfoolery. The Miqo’te is known to pull her friends, family, and husband into various adventures. Usually of the cross continental nature, with a big helping of side quests to season the journey.
The spirit of freedom is one with this young warrior, and she always intends to make the most of each day and interaction. No matter how big or small, she will engage in conversation, and share stories with others as much as she is able.
Current State of Affairs
It’s been a total of four moons since the mighty warrior monk, became a mighty warrior mom! Three kits is a lot of work but with the help of her husband she has been sliding into motherhood with ease. Though where was a mishap involving some scissors and a half asleep haircut. If Pandora is out and about it is very common to see her with her family. Either her husband and the three kits, just her husband, or just the kits. Either way, she will gladly strike up a conversation with those triplets strapped to her body like little baby sloths.
No longer being pregnant means getting back to work. Pandora is trying to use her old contacts to find some short term contracts to take on so she can support her loved ones. Admittedly she is also extremely antsy to get back into the action. This monk has been dying to get back into the fight and take down some high level targets. Pandora may be a bit too gung-ho on this, and is a high level ball of energy.
The Past
Lost to her birth family, a young Miqo’te girl was found by an old Hyur. A man known as Marc Oxi. Found in the deserts of Thanalan with injuries and amnesia, the young girl was more than likely no older than 15-16 summers. Marc Oxi raised her, and named her Pandora, after his late wife. Once her injuries healed, the explorative nature of the girl begun to take shape. Fascinated by all things and all the people that came through their home out by Little Ala Mihgo, Pandora Oxi had taken very little time to decide she wanted to be an adventurer. Her father who couldn’t say no to the request, seeing as he had been an adventurer of bard in his youth, he wanted to make sure she had every opportunity to chose that dream. All while being safe of course.
It was through a small stroke of luck that Marc Oxi happened to be in contact with a master monk. A refugee from the temple in Gyr Abania. Safi Salahar. And thus began the training of Pandora Oxi, aspiring monk and adventurer.
Thought not everything was sunshine and chocobo fluff. Pandora only had a few years with her elderly father before he passed on, and she was put into the care of master part time. Asking her about this portion of her life will result in the retelling of many a wacky tale, as her master at the time was MIA, she was homeless for some time. Things came to a head after she reunited with her birth family in a most unconventional way, which she frankly doesn’t want to recount.
Too much bloodshed with that family reunion.
Now Pandora and her siblings have a mostly functional relationship. The monk finding it in her heart to forgive after all hell broke loose between her elder brother Mikh’a, herself and her twin Ruyi.
with how long and complex her past is, she will only talk about it when prompted, and even then she will be tight lipped about most of these events.
