Early Years
Born to a relatively poor family of two in a backwater Thanalan mining town, Tohku was a bit of an oddity. Her Keeper parents fled their homes and clans in order to pursue a traditional Hyur life, as they were infatuated with the idea of getting married and living in a little home by a river. They wanted to treat Tohku as their little princess, doting on her as one would royalty in Ul'dah. The young Tohku however, wanted nothing more than to explore, fight, and get into mischief with the young boys. Needless to say, this often put her at complete odds with her family.
The Puddlechasers
When she came of age, she ran away from this stifling home with 3 of her closest friends, all pursuing an adventurer's life. Like most young hopefuls, they chased this path full of dreams of fame, glory and riches. They named themselves The Puddlechasers, mocking the gravitas and grim nature of the names most adventuring parties chose.
Their early adventures were wildly successful, which lead them to making the worst decision of their lives. Tohku heard rumors of lost treasures in the yet-uncharted depths of Amdapor. The ruined ancient city infamous for the Voidsent infestation. After many moons, the others were convinced to try just one delve to see if there was any stock to the rumors.
Tohku has never spoken of what happened in that accursed place, as she was the only one who came back alive. She spoke only of dark horrors and terror, and that she barely made it out with her life.
At first her friends and the families of her companions were supportive, but doubts soon crept in. They started to blame her for the deaths, some accused her of killing her companions over the new sword she now jealously guarded against any who tried to so much as touch it. Arguments broke out, and each one ended in bursts of vicious flames. Tohku was chased out of her new home in The Shroud, and never returned to it for well over a decade.
The Grand Hunt
She took her sword and her shame and ended up joining the Grand Hunt. A loose organization of hunters who sought out and destroyed the most terrifying beats and monsters in Eorzea. These people were said to be insane, suicidal, and utterly terrifying to behold at work. Not one hunter in these crews expected to make it out of any of their hunts alive - But that was precisely the point for most of them.
Ohku was no different.
Years passed of her forever seeking a death that never came. Each victory carried the selfsame sense of hollowness to it. She understood that she was doing good, but helping regular folks survive never lifted her up the way it should've. At least not until she met her lover R'oya, who helped show her that there was more to life than seeking a glorious death.
Physicality
Her shock of white hair stands out against her dark skin. The glint of brassy metal catches the sun as her tarnished crown pokes through her messy locks. Two fuzzy ears stand upright above it all, expressive, and always moving - even if it's just a twitch. She has a notoriously difficult time controlling her ears and tail, and they often betray her inner thoughts.
She wears many scars, though few are visible while clothed. None of them are a mark of shame, and she knows the stories behind them all. Her body is toned and athletic with the build of a fighter. She works her body every day to ensure that she's always in top form.
Those stormy grey eyes are big, and wonderfully expressive. She has a knack for looking through people, which can sometimes be unnerving for those not used to it. Her gaze always flicks to potential new threats, assessing and judging them. But she's not burdened by an excess of caution or fear, it's simply a learned skill that was necessary for surviving out in the wilds.
Outfits
Her clothing appears quite formal like a uniform, and while it may look showy, it's all function where it matters. It's an outfit that has been designed just for her, and fits her form perfectly. There are metal plates where she needs them, and pockets in all manner of places.
At the back of her belt is a custom leather satchel, with the Condor's sigil emblazoned on the top cover. She wears this at all times, just as she does with her crown and red neckscarf. Within the bag is a neatly arranged set of toxins, harvesting tools, and a copy of the Hunters Handbook.
By her side rests an ancient-looking sword that looks straight out of the history books. Few museums hold swords of such heritage. Yet strangely she wears it without a scabbard, and the blade looks as if it were freshly forged. Not a hint of weathering or damage mars the surface. Furthermore, the blade itself boasts a set of cryptic runic characters. Some may recognize them as the ancient Amdaporian script.
When not in her traveling gear, she's usually seen in comfortable clothes that give plenty of freedom of movement. Her fashion choice favors simple, durable materials, and practical designs. She's only been seen in a dress once.
Despite not being a Seeker of the Sun herself, T'ohku has found a home among the Condors of Ul'dah. She initially followed her lover, T'oya to the tribe, but soon found a new purpose among them. They are her family now, and she'd go to incredible lengths to keep them safe.
She's forged strong bonds with those who live under the wing of the Ul'dahn Condor. She started as an outsider, but now sits among those who are core to what makes this tribe who they are.
Every deal she makes with a new store, she directs them to send the profits of the sales to the Condors account. They will outlive her, and she intends to do what she can to ensure that the future generations have the best possible start in their lives.
T'ohku has established herself across the realm as a capable huntress. Her travels as a hunter have been extensive, and the presence she's established as a result of these adventures have touched people in many communities.
Perhaps she fought alongside your character once? Maybe she helped train them? Perhaps you heard of her after she helped defeat a beast that was threatening your hometown?
She's often seen in bars, libraries, and bookstores. Her book is quite well-known and highly regarded. Yet she's always trying to learn more.
