Ketenramm’s expedition brought with him an adventuring Hellsguard couple to sail the seas. Yet unbeknowst to them at the time, she was with child, and didn’t become evident until after reaching the New World.
Eventually, the two settled down in Tuliyollal, as the trip back would have been unsafe. There, Sovereign, or “Majestic Iris”, was born.
They lived in Shaaloani and lived a comfortable life, despite the change. However, during the rising conquest of the Garlean Empire, Ketenramm wasn’t the only one with the idea to find what the far West had to offer, as a scout ship was sent to conduct reconnaissance. During their mission, they discovered veins of ceruleum in Shaaloani, but were discovered by Majestic and her mother. In their panic, Majestic’s mother was wounded during the incident, unable to keep her daughter from being taken.
Now separated, Majestic was stolen away out of haste, brought to a cold and frigid land of ice and snow.
Luckily, not long after her arrival, she was taken in by nobles who were apart of the Populares, becoming Rheia Aan Galena.
Given an basic education, Rheia took her parent’s teaching over that of Imperial propaganda along side her brother, leading them both to grow with sympathy to non-Garleans and a disdain against conquest. After several years, the Bozja Incident occurred, killed their patriarch. Their mother, proceeded to cut her loses and desert the Empire, all three abandoning their home to discreetly aid the Eorzea Alliance.
Before that, Rheia was trained in the old Reaper arts, where her last test was to form a pact with a Voidsent to gain their power. Whether unfortunately or luckily, she the procedure went awry, causing a particular Voidsent to fully enter the Source and enter Rheia, however not as a new vessel, but as an ally. The Voidsent Seris took the chance to escape the hell that was the Void. He offered his power in exchange to simply live in this Aether-rich world, even if it meant hunting other Voidsent. This a pact was formed and an unlikely ally made.
Once reaching Eorzea, Rheia changed her name to Sovereign Rae, a reflection to her old name and being her adoptive father’s “little queen” in memory of him, and a new start with the hopes of halting the coming destruction.
