The story of the character's origins

Having been born during a time of short peace in Ala Mhigo, Y'lhana didn't have enough time to explore her childhood and slowly blossom into a woman. Her entire world got flipped and turned upside down when the Empire came to invade and takeover Ala Mhigo when she was barely of the age of 14 years old. Growing up in a tough and rugged environment, Y'lhana spent most of her early days taking care of her sick mother and kid sister, Y'akshai . Amidst the Ala Mhigan takeover, even at a young age, Y'lhana wanted to do what she could for her small community and home.

For what little she could give, Y'lhana tried fighting back against an Imperial troop that raided their mud stone abode, taking the troop by surprise and disarming him of his gunblade, she took to the sword and fought tooth and nail to keep her family safe. In the end, she was overpowered with ease after a second Imperial troop invaded their home and the two Imperials knocked some sense of reality into Y'lhana. Powerless, hopeless, bloodied, bruised and beaten, all she could do as struggle to breathe after being thrown against the cemented flood of their home against her back. Causing some minor damage to her lungs. All the Miqo'te could do is watch in helpless hopelessness as the two Imperial men partook in unspeakable and deplorable, vile acts upon their mother as she kicked and screamed to no avail. Y'akshai sobbed, crying a river of pain and mourn, and Y'lhana, silently weeping to herself as she struggled to breathe; getting swallowed by her own rage, confusion, hopelessness and suffering.

Presently, Y'lhana may be seen traveling around Eorzea, doing field research for a private, and perhaps a little shady medical business. And although many younger than her who have lived and suffered through war have ‘toughened’ up from it, Y'lhana has been dealing with her own inner demons and past traumas ever since after the war with the 12th Legion. Having been left broken yet again.
