Early Life
Just a boy when Doma fell to Garlean occupation, Mujika grew up in a shinobi village, hidden away and sheltered by his clan. As he came of age and progressed in his training, he joined the Doman Liberation Front alongside his compatriots. In his late teens, he styled himself as a pesky saboteur, disrupting supply lines and stealing Garlean equipment.
Despite warnings from his mentors to temper himself, to slow down, it was only a matter of time before youthful overconfidence saw Mujika bite off more than he could chew. When his team found themselves ambushed by Imperial Shadows, Mujika stood his ground so his companions could escape. Outmatched by a landslide, he was quickly overpowered and captured by the Shadows. Rather than risk a rescue attempt by the Liberation Front, the decision was made not to interrogate him in Doma. Taken from the only home he had ever known, he soon found himself loaded up onto an airship, bound for Garlemald via Rabanastre.
Dalmascan Resistance
As the airship docked for refueling in Rabanastre, Mujika saw an opportunity. Putting his training to the test, he broke free from his bonds, incapacitated his guards, and fled through the airship. He dodged patrols and Shadows alike until he located the loading dock. It was heavily guarded, crawling with Garlean soldiers, but with no other options left to him Mujika made a run for it. He dashed into the sweltering Rabanastran streets and through the crowds in a desperate bid to escape his pursuers.
Lost and alone in an unfamiliar city, it was all Mujika could do to use his parkour talents to keep ahead of the Garleans. He led them on a chase from the Westgate Aerodrome to the East End before heat exhaustion began to set in. He was on the verge of collapsing when one of the locals took him by the arm and rushed him away. All Mujika could do was stumble along, dizzy from the heat. He was led down into the dark alleys of Lowtown, then onward, into the depths of the waterways below the city. He readily collapsed into the cool waters of the Garamsythe, unable to see straight, let alone take another step.
His savior remained at his side, offering food, water, and cooler clothes as Mujika spent the next two days recovering from his near miss with heat stroke. Once he recovered, his rescuer identified himself as one Marsil Trelik, an independent member of the Dalmascan Resistance. With no way back to Doma, a common enemy, and a life debt to repay, Mujika swore himself into Marsil's service as a token of his appreciation.
As Marsil's efforts became more coordinated, Mujika remained loyally at his side as they transitioned from independent operatives to the leaders of their own cell. Masquerading as a hunters' clan by the name of Clan Delima, Mujika joined Marsil on numerous operations, both illicit and legitimate. He was present on a trip to Valnain where the threat of Garlean patrols forced them to hide out in the outer edges of Golmore, dangerously close to the village of Muscadet. It was there the clan met Viola and where he later lost an eye when Muscadet's defenders tracked her to their camp.
Over the years that followed, Mujika would more or less settle in Dalmasca. He would fall in love, marry, and have a child of his own, far from his home. Though barely a man himself when he had left his people, Mujika matured into a highly effective operative at Marsil's side. Clan Delima's operations continued, unabated, for years despite their hardships. Though their numbers thinned during the events that followed the Barheim Incident, their cell survived largely intact thanks to the years of experience Marsil and his inner circle had amassed.
Post Stormblood/Return to Ivalice
The liberation of Doma spurred on a new confidence in Clan Delima, as it had so many other Rabanastran cells. Mujika readily joined the fighting in an attempt to throw off the Imperial yoke once and for all, only to watch as the entire cell crumbled. When news reached him that Marsil had been captured and was being held for questioning, Mujika took it upon himself to rescue him. Mere hours before Marsil was slated to be executed, Mujika donned the armor of a Garlean soldier, infiltrated their prison, and successfully smuggled Marsil out to safety before the Dalriada turned its weapons on the city itself.
Horrified by the destruction left in the Garlean fleet's wake, Mujika rushed back into the rubble to rescue as many people as he could. In the end, only five out of the dozens of Delima operatives remained. With their cell dead in all but name, Marsil fell in step with Lente's tears, with Mujika not far behind. Unable to take the thought of losing them, too, Mujika sent his wife and child away to Eorzea at the first opportunity while he remained in Rabanastre for a short while longer.
Post Shadowbringers/Bozjan Resistance
Following Dalmasca's inclusion in the Eastern Alliance, Mujika soon found himself called back to his people. With Marsil's blessing, he returned to his village in Doma and reunited with the few remaining survivors of the Mori clan and their allies. After he took some time to reconnect with his family and train with his old mentors, Mujika volunteered as a runner for the Alliance, carrying messages back and forth between the Eastern nations and Eorzea.
He would later reunite with Marsil and Viola at Zadnor, serving alongside them in the Bozjans' fight against the IVth Legion.
Endwalker and Beyond
Following his father's death at the hands of tempered Garleans, Mujika inherited his father's titles, for all they were worth. Left without any other potential heirs and knowing that his Dalmascan-born son was unlikely to have any interest in continuing the family legacy, Mujika began quietly selling off the family's remaining assets to allied clans.
In the time since, Mujika has returned to his role as a glorified letter carrier. It's a task he seems to enjoy, as it affords him the opportunity to see the world and, more importantly, sneak in some quality time with his wife and son.
